The business model in America is changing.  It doesn’t make sense anymore to keep and maintain a payroll department.  There are many, many good reasons to outsource besides cost.  However, if a person is looking at cost alone, it is as simple as taking a calculator to the number of hours spent on “Payroll Related Activities”  Be sure to include the time spent on tasks like printing and distributing checks, creating and mailing tax documents, submitting work comp reports, dealing with mistakes, figuring out software programs, etc…..Just to name a few.  It just doesn’t add up.  It is always less expensive to outsource to Payroll Express.
